Life continues!
Hello all! Sorry it has been a while since my last post. Life has been crazy and I just haven't taken the time to update everyone on my life currently. So here is my life for the past few weeks.
I climbed a mountain called Lions Head a few weeks ago. We went on a day that was usually a tradition because it was a full moon but it was raining the whole time we were climbing. We knew it was going to be raining all day but we decided to go anyways and ended up having a blast. We climbed down in the dark so I was a little afraid I was going to die but obviously that didn't happen! And I made a few new friends. :)
Shelby, Kim, Ivan, and myself took a day to go into Cape Town where we drove on a very beautiful road and stopped to take a lot of pictures like this one. Then we went to lunch where I enjoyed a wonderful milk shake!
Then we went to see the HUNGER GAMES! Oh how I had been waiting for this day! We went with a large group of friends and all had a blast! Coming here I brought all of my books with me and now I had gotten 6 people to read them! VICTORY!
There was one day where we were in a different location for club and there was this sand where the kids kept doing all kinds of flips. It was so cool to watch them fly through the air!
This is my team that I work with everyday! They have become my family here in SA and I am so blessed to be working with them every day!
The past two weeks I have had the privilege of teaching the Bible stories to the kiddos. We are teaching them about having a Wise Heart. So last week I taught them the story about the wise and foolish builders. It was the best day of club we have had thus far. I was a little nervous about teaching the kids because I am not used to working with little children so this is a challenge for me but with a little bit of prayer everything went great which was so exciting!

This week I taught them about the Parable of the Sower. It is really cool to be able to come up with a way for the kids to really understand what the story is about. It is a challenge though because these kids come from a very different place than I have ever been in so you have to constantly be thinking of how these stories can relate to a child in poverty. But I think it is going well this week because for once they are actually listening to the story and not talking. I do have to say that my favorite part of club now is seeing the same kids every day and actually knowing their names and hearing them call me by mine. I love being here for a longer time than just a few weeks or even a few months because it gives me the chance to truly get to know a lot of these kids. There is nothing like receiving hugs from lots of children all at once! :)
Well, there is my current life! I will try and keep this updated more! Blessings!
