Hello all! Again I apologize the for my terrible blog skills. It has been way to long since my last post and for that I am sorry. But here is a few updates on my life here in SA! Enjoy!
I made a few friends at the World of Birds. They had this caged area where these precious monkeys could jump all over you. They were fun!
We also became friends with this cool dude!
Sine I have committed to moving here I have started looking at different ministries that I could be a part of while I am here. So, I went to a place called Sommerset West to do ministry with a new friend of mine named Beth. It was such a privilege to spend time with her and her teens that she ministers too. I instantly fell in love with these teens and was sad to say good bye!
Meet Abo! This was a boy that I met while I was at IMPACT. It was amazing because when he saw me he instantly remembered my face and my name. Love this kid!
This past week we had two different parents nights. this was so great because the kids got to show off everything they have been learning. These boys did an amazing dance. They were so excited and did absolutely amazing!
Its amazing what happens with children when you bring out a camera! Ha!
This was right after our second parents meeting.
Guess who got ringworm on her face... this girl! But don't worry, it is not actually a worm! :/
How do you test to see who is really your friend? Get ringworm on your face and see who is willing to still sit next to you... not many are willing! :(
Happy 23rd Birthday to Shelby! Such a wonderful night and a privilege to buy this sweet friend her birthday dinner! Thanks for joining me on this amazing journey Shelbs!
My brother is ENGAGED! I was so thrilled that I showed pretty much everyone at work their picture. This caused me to get home sick for the first time since I have been here. But its all good because they are waiting till I get home to have the engagement party! Thanks big brother! Love you! Congrats!
Shelby and I have decided that we need to have our own show since we are so entertaining pretty much all the time! Thoughts?
For some odd reason Shelby likes to take pictures of me when I don't realize. So, here is me trying to get this baby to laugh... I was not successful!
Well, since my last post we have had several visits from our friends the baboons! There was one week where I was sick with a cold and the flu. Shelby opened our door to let some air in (which we do often). Then all of a sudden a baboon walks in the room. I am upstairs when I hear someone coming up the stairs. I look and guess who or what it is! BABOON! We make eye contact and then he moves on past me (Thank the Lord!) and goes straight for our food. Two days later they come back with more monkeys and take one of our doors off its hinges. Lets just say I am tired of buying food for these dang monkeys! And this is a picture of a baboon we say just chillin on the side of the road!
The other day Shelby and I took a drive which we do often but this time we documented the experience! This is the light house right by our house that I walk to often.
We like to sing... a lot!
This is me looking for our house! :) We live on the other side of that beach. Be jealous!
One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen! This is Hout Bay. This is a drive we take by our house sometimes.
YAY! Spring is coming! It's been a long winter!
Until next time! :)
